Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 3 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
- 3 large eggs, separated
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 package ladyfingers (savoiardi)
- Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions:
- Prepare the Coffee Mixture: In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur. Set aside.
- Prepare the Mascarpone Mixture: In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks and granulated sugar until thick and pale. Add the mascarpone cheese and mix until smooth. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
